Glazed Stoneware

5.8 × 5.8 × 5.8 in

Drawing from Point Dume's ancient sedimentary layers, this rounded ceramic vessel captures the essence of coastal erosion and time. The generous curves and wide belly evoke weathered beach stones shaped by countless tides, while individually crafted clay "pebbles" dot the charcoal surface like treasures embedded in sand.

Each tiny rock element is hand-formed and glazed separately before being carefully placed on the vessel's surface, creating a tactile landscape that invites touch. A delicate metallic band encircles the neck, adding an elegant accent that catches light like wet sand at sunset.

This compact bud vase celebrates the patient artistry of geological forces while showcasing meticulous handcraft. Fully watertight and functional, it's perfect for fresh flower arrangements or dried botanicals, yet equally stunning as a standalone art object that brings Malibu's timeless coastline indoors.

This piece is watertight, making it suitable for holding fresh flowers or standing alone as a sculptural object.
